1) Luftflotte 4 bombs Wielun, killing at least 127 Polish civilians.

2) Meeting engagement between 19. Infanterie-Division and 30 DP at Parzymiechy.

3) LSSAH advances to the village of Boleslawiec, where it receives its baptism of fire.

4) The 4. Panzer-Division fights a vicious meeting engagement with the Wolynska Cavalry Brigade at Mokra, suffering significant losses.

5) The 4. Infanterie-Division destroys the Polish battalion in Lubliniec.

2 September

6) The 19. Infanterie-Division crosses the Warta and captures Dzialoszyn.

7) The IV Armeekorps’ initial attempt to capture Częstochowa is repulsed. However, the 7 DP withdraws toward Janow to avoid encirclement.

8) 1. Panzer-Division captures two intact bridges over the Warta.

3 September

9) The 46. Infanterie-Division occupies Częstochowa.

10) The 2. leichte-Division cuts off the escape of the 7 DP and forces it to surrender.

11) The 28 DP moves forward to try and stop the 1. leichte-Division from crossing the Warta but fails.

12) The 4. Panzer-Division occupies Radomsko.

4 September

13) Polish armoured counter-attack against the 1. Panzer-Division near Rozprza.
